Cucumber Gin Bloody Mary Recipe

Alejandro Javier Lopez is firm believer in balance when it comes to cocktails. Well-made spirits working in harmony with their mixers to craft elevated Bloody Mary cocktails.

That's why Toma Bloody Mary Mixers teamed up with Liz McCray, owner of (a Bloody Mary and brunch lifestyle brand and food/beverage blog). We wanted to create a unique Bloody Mary recipe that would surely take your cocktail game to the next level.

For starters, Liz used our Toma Horseradish mixer and paired it with a dry gin (we like Tod & Vixen's Dry Gin 1651 - hey, we’re in NY’s Hudson Valley, we like to keep it local). To elevate this cocktail, she added fresh cucumber juice, which really brightens things up! If you don't have a juicer, you can muddle and strain the juice. Finally, she topped off the cocktail with an oyster 🦪, celery, lemon, and a cucumber slice. Liz lives in San Diego, so you know the west coast oysters in the photos have to be out of this world! If you don't live near the coastline, you can skip the oyster garnish. But we can assure you that this cocktail is going to change the way you think about gin in your Bloody Marys.

Cucumber Juice

  • 1 cucumber (peeled, halved, and juiced)
  • Juice of half a lemon

Bloody Mary

Line the inside of the glass with a cucumber ribbon.

Cucumber Juice

Peel an entire cucumber and cut into halves and run it through the juicer, if you have one. If you do not have a juicer, place it in a blender. Add juice from half a lemon and blend until smooth.

If you are using a blender, strain the juice through a strainer as the mixture will be too thick for your Bloody Mary.

Bloody Mary

Run a lemon around the rim of a pint glass. Evenly coat the rim of the glass with the kosher salt. Place the cucumber slice in your glass. See photos for inspiration.

Fill your glass with ice.

In a shaker tin combine Toma Bloody Mary Horseradish mix, cucumber juice, and the gin. Shake until evenly mixed and then pour into your glass.

Garnish your glass with a celery stalk, lemon wheel, cucumber wheel, and a fresh oyster.
